Too Good

Hello my fellow Sonshine,

Holy Week

I am going to try and keep this short because there are so many things within this reading!

Observations-

-When Jesus washed Peters and Matthews feet he was showing even he doesn’t consider him higher than others. LIKE!

-Sinning and “Not being close to God was like a punishment.” Jesus was willing to die for all the bad we had done. LIKE!

-An angel came on the third day after Jesus’s death (Immediately the Guard was terrified and ran) and moved the stone out in front of Jesus’s tomb and he rose. First, Jesus rising. LIKE! But the description of the angel, “A shining man was there, with clothes made from lighting.” People, I can’t even imagine what that would like, that is so crazy. LIKE!

-Jesus walked straight through a wall; I thought you only saw that stuff on TV shows. I can see why the disciples were a bit unbelieving at first.

-After Jesus’ resurrection his friends followed him for a few days. Jesus then said, “It is time for me to go home to my Father.  You know the way.”  What is so crazy and blows my mind is that it was like Jesus was handing his job/duty (or whatever) to the people. It says that Thomas panicked; this was just like the feeding of the 5000. Jesus said, you know what to do (feed these people) but they said they didn’t know how.” The best and simplest answer Jesus says, “I AM WAY AND THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE.” LIKE!!

Ideas & Questions-

-Peter slices of a guard’s ear to protect Jesus but Jesus immediately healed him. The guards then captured Jesus (willingly) and Jesus’ friends were afraid so they ran and hid. WHAT IF IT WENT DOWN DIFFERENTLY? What if the people either fought for Jesus, or they were captured as well. I would assume Jesus would have stopped them if they had fought. But  the crazy part is, if for some reason the guards captured the others I don’t think Jesus would let them be held captive, and definitely not killed. So what would Jesus of done, and would thing of turned out differently?

-When Jesus had rose, Mary was one of the first to see Jesus. She was so shocked and happy she “Fell to the ground. Sudden tears filled her eyes and great sobs shook her whole body, and all she wanted in that moment was to cling to Jesus and never let go.” All I could think of when reading this is I want to know the same feeling she did, we all do. Being so happy and gracious, it is one of the best feeling ever. But what if it was for Jesus! (That’s the thing. It shouldn’t be only when he is present. It should be all the time!!!)

-Lastly I wanted to point out that when Mary saw Jesus he told her to go and spread my resurrection to the others (in the town). So she ran graciously and told… but where was her proof. If people didn’t see Jesus would they of believe her or would they have thought Mary was crazy and insane (I would have like to believe but I probably would of thought she was crazy). Where do we stand as Christians at that point? If someone tells you such good news but it is hard to imagine what is the right way to go about it….

Sorry, it was definitely longer than I thought, it just kept coming and I was trying to make it as short as possible. This passage should have been broken up into three weeks. So GOOD!
