Studying! Woo!

It has been so encouraging to read these posts! Thank you everyone for sharing. I can't wait to meet y'all!

After reading the devotional for this week, this verse came to mind:

"But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise in salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."
2 Timothy 3:14-17

What's sad is that I did not originally know where that verse was located, so I had to Google it. God has blessed us with his Living Word, and I take it for granted. I love when people compare it to studying in college. Because it's so true, I spent so much on studying and worrying about passing my exams.  But how can you take someones blood pressure, or draw blood, or write notes to the doctor if you did not study nursing (I wasn't a nursing major)? I mean, I'm sure you can get by (taking some one's blood pressure can't be that hard, right)? But how do you respond to the patients questions or comfort the family? How do you meet the patients needs and communicate with the doctors if you did not study nursing?

"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."

I love what Haley expressed in her post, "My prayer for all of you with the anticipation of summer, is not that we would be focusing on studying the way a houseboat works, or the proper way to hang out with campers, but that we would study the one who CREATED houseboats and the amazing mystery that is campers! And from this look at houseboats and campers through the lens of our God."

How do I know God? How do I get know His character, his desire, and passion for campers? It's through studying his Word and meditating on the Truth he has so graciously blessed us with. When we study his word, he will use it to teach, rebuke, correct and train us in his righteousness, which will prepare us for the work he has already planned!
