This
week has been awesome, not only because this week’s topic for devotionals has
been on Prayer but also my Chico State IV Christian group has been talking
about Prayer too! I wanted to add a quick snippet about God, love, and then talk
about Fear and Faith.
In the
second paragraph about a third the way down it says,
“Every breath on my lips and beat of
my heart is a breath and beat of hope that I would PRACTIVE His Presence and be caught up in the mystery of
who He is and what He’s SAYING and doing.”
I want to let it be known and share
to everyone that God communicates differently to everyone. We all have a
different language in which he talks to us. It is like a practice of always
trying to hear what he is saying. We can probably all agree with saying, in
some situations it is easier to hear him than others.
Love-
From the reading, Foster says, “If we genuinely love people, we desire for them
far more than it is within our power to give, and that will cause us to pray.”
I never thought of love being something more powerful than what we as humans
can control. That is awesome and makes so much sense! And it says, “That will
cause us to pray.” I guess when I pray I have never really thought about who I
am praying for in the sense of what they mean to me (that sounds weird). What I
am saying is that everyone we pray for we love! Weather it is friends, family,
those in need, they are all our brothers and sisters in Christ and we pray for
them because we LOVE them. SO CRAZY!
Lastly I wanted to talk about FEAR.
Many times in this section fear has been brought up (fear, fearing, fearlessly,
casting out fear, no fear in love, perfect love drives out fear, punishment in
fear, etc.). My Chico IV group bible study has been talking a lot about fear
and faith, how with these two words they can pretty much sum up how we live our
lives with Christ. More often we recognize the fact of doing things out of fear
and less out of faith, this makes no sense. I love how living out faith and
past fear is done with prayer. But prayer relates back to my first idea of
trusting god in which he talks to us all in different ways. When you pray, god
will answer but remember sometimes it is harder to hear/see what he is communicating.
Sometime we just have to dig a bit farther.
