What a blessing it is to read your posts! Thank you for pouring yourselves into the devotional and sharing the things God is placing on your hearts! I hope you continue to enjoy reading and posting because this is an amazing way for us to grow together as God prepares us for His service this summer! I hope it will be a source of encouragement and growth. Its like a geographically wide spread bible study!! Love it!
Two things that stood out in the prayer study was:
1) I was really moved by Brother Lawrences quote in the foot notes. He said "The time of business does not differ with me from the time of prayer, and in the noise and clatter of my kitchen, while several persons are at the same time calling for different things, I possess God in as great tranquility as if I were on my knees". This part really stood out to me! Among my busy life, noise, and clatter; I hope that I would be internally on my knees in prayer and relationship with my Lord! Its a great truth that regardless of whats going on in our lives, we can live internally in "great tranquility" as if we were in the very presence of God!
2) I really enjoyed the line, "The destination of prayer is our home which is Christ. We abide in him. When we don't know the way, what does Jesus say? 'I am the way'. He is our destination and prayer helps place us with Jesus". I absolutely needed to here this truth this week. Its true that prayer helps direct us to Jesus. It was also reassuring that Jesus is our way. I think a lot of us are at a place in our lives where our next direction or destination isn't clear and/or looks pretty scary. But what amazing reassurance it is that regardless of where we go Jesus is our destination! We all know where we are going because all of our destinations are Jesus! So cool! And this is true as we pray! Prayer reminds us and re-orients us back to our true direction, Jesus! In a world that screams at us and distracts us from Jesus, it is prayer that reminds us of our true direction. Jesus is the way...our only way! So encouraging...I loved this!
Blessings to you all!
