Elllllow!
So not
much to talk about this week. The section I guess didn’t quit stick out to me.
I really like the quote, “Noise, hurry
and crowds are the antithesis of green pastures and quiet waters.” When I read
quiet waters I of course made the connection of early mornings out on the water
before campers get up having quite time with god (Operation: Meditation).
I also really liked the last line, “Stop
and Listen. Hear the voice and open the door.” Too often I know in my day I am always
in a rush and don’t take a break. A short time just to see the bigger picture
in things and talk with god is definitely something I am working on. That goes
with saying a prayer here and there, throughout the day when you see or hear something
in which you should pray for (the things add up).
And lastly, I like the comparison
between Christian meditation and other acts of meditation within this passage. “Christian
meditation has nothing to do with emptying our minds; it engages every part of
us.” I know in my life maybe when praying in big groups I can zone out and have
nothing on my mind. But this goes to show we aren’t accepting and challenging
ourselves to live out life to try and seek what god is telling us. It takes all
our power in communicating and trying to figuring out what he wants. Showing
our full attention for our God only seems logical and righteous, not this 50 – 50
stuff. (All out!)
